Lake Louise

Before and after our hike to Lake Agnes Tea House we were able to see the bright blue glacier water of Lake Louise.

Before our hike we were lucky enough to see the lake without many people around (9 am). As Bryce said in the Lake Agnes post, get there early to avoid the crowds. I couldn't believe how many people were crowded around Lake Louise by the time we got back to the bottom (11:30-12 pm).

You can also skate on the lake once it freezes over in the winter, which we did on New Years day this past January. There is an ice sculpture of a castle and you can skate with the most amazing views of the mountains.

    1. Ya it really is something so see! Check out our post on Lake Moraine too! It's a deeper blue. Apparently there are different minerals in each lake that contribute to the milkier appearance in Louise, even though they're only about 10 minutes apart via the roads that connect them.
