Blackstone Lodge - Canmore

Back in January Bryce and I stayed at Blackstone Lodge in Canmore for two nights. We chose Canmore over Banff because you get the same beautiful mountain views at a fraction of the cost, and there are a lot less tourists around.

The lodge offers free underground parking and we were able to store our snowboards in a locker for a dollar. After checking in and going up to our room we were amazed at how nice the amenities were. We stayed in the one-bedroom suite, which included a full kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, living/dining area with a fireplace, washer/dryer, bathroom and a separate bedroom with a queen sized bed.

The view from our room - pretty spectacular!

The lodge is a short drive from downtown Canmore so you can explore the shops and restaurants, and there are a couple grocery stores where you can buy groceries to keep in your fully equipped kitchen. There is also a hot tub and heated pool but we didn't bring our bathing suits.

Overall Blackstone Lodge was clean, had nice upgrades and the staff were friendly. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

  1. A fellow Albertan! We always stay in Canmore too for the same reasons. Sometime I feel like I can't even breathe in Banff! We stayed at Blackstone too over the summer and it was great!
