A few weeks ago we drove out to Sheep River Falls in Kananaskis, which is just a short drive away from the city. (Warning: the road on the way out is extremely bumpy).
About three-quarters way through our journey we saw a Ram on the road, followed by many cows (I recommend not driving too fast).
Once we got to the falls we decided to explore the area. The terrain is very easy to walk and varies from a dirt path in the trees to rocks along the river. It's easy to climb down to be situated right next to the falls and feel the mist from the fresh glacier water.
The water is stunningly blue. I encourage you to stop for a moment and take in the beautiful views.
After exploring the falls we found a spot on the other side of the river (or what used to be, lots of damage from the flood) to sit down for a picnic lunch.
I wouldn't classify Sheep River Falls as a hike because it is mostly walking along the river shore and is very easy. We went to the falls for sightseeing and we were not disappointed.
